No, I have not. BUT... I have read Body for Life by Bill Phillips. It is a VERY informative, motivating book. This book is useful not just for the beginners, but for the novice as well.

Another book is "The Body Sculpting Bible for Women". I have read the one for Men. I think it is even more complete than Body for Life since it stresses the importance of using your mind for everything from setting your Fitness Goals to practicing perfect form during your workouts.
I know this could help you with your fitness goals...it's helping me.
