Do I need to be a beefcake to do yoga?
My friend wants me to do yoga and she is female. Only i am a guy and i am not at all a beefcake. I'm not taking up two seats but at the same time i have no visible abs or pecks. Also im a bit two toned around my neck and along my arms..
she wants us to do this yoga class in college. Will any of my flaws be exposed? I ask because i see the typical yoga videos and they are in really tight clothes like they are going swimming. in a community college is it the same thing? basically im asking normally for beginners (or in college) do you have to wear those revealing outfits.
Im all for yoga, better my life and my mind. it will help me to eat healtheir and get in better shape but im just worried about looking out of shape in front of all the ladies..
No, you do not need to be a beefcake, quite the reverse. In my experience, beefcakes are not so good at yoga as men with an average body. Men who are more slender are usually more supple and far more suited to the physical demands of yoga.
By the way, I asked a male friend to go to yoga with me. 6 months later he was my husband. Just saying
Back to the question, the ideal clothes to wear for yoga are loose fitting but not flappy. They should be made from organic cotton and feel totally comfortable.
