Could anyone give me any feedback on having your tubes banded?
I was considering have my tubes cut and tied and someone told me they can put bands on your fallobian tubes and said those bands can be taken off if you ever decide to have children. I'm 26 years old and already have 2 girls. I cannot use birth control. My husband and I don't plan on having anymore children but since we are still young the bands sounds better. Is there anyone who can give me any feedback about having the bands done and their experience with it and was they able to have them removed and conceive?
There is possibly a better chance of getting pregnant if you decide to reverse the banding; however be aware that when tissue touches in such close proximity for such an extended period of time, scar tissue can develop.
In other words, there's a chance that if they DO remove the bands, the tube may stay crimped.
Also, this may be exacerbated by the fact that while banding is supposed to leave the tube intact, there is always a chance of partially severing the tube, thereby causing scar tissue.
The flip side of this procedure is that a band will occasionally come off, and ready or not, you'll get pregnant. This is probably THE least reliable TL method, so weigh your options thoroughly.
