How should I go about pursuing a career as an FBI agent.?
Hello there,
I know to many this may seem unrealistic and almost ideal. But I am honestly very serious and interested in becoming an agent. Right now I am merely going to be a Junior in High School, but I have good remarks and whatnot in all classes. Prefferably i would like to join the NROTC program and be accepted to Cornell University to study Behavioral Science. Eventually I would like to become a Criminal Profiler, which is why I would be pursuing the Special Agent career in the first place.
I just don't know what route would be the best to take, what college to go to, and how to go about things. I have a good head on my shoulders and I can already say the fitness part would not be an issue.
Please help, any advice is greatly appreciated!
Also I am fluent in English, and Spanish, and almost fluent in French. Once I've mastered French I want to learn several more languages... I know that's a plus to the FBI.
If you want to be an FBI agent, you must have a bachelor's degree and at least three years of related full-time work experience. Get a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, then apply for law enforcement positions at your local police department(s). Once you have completed three years of work, you can begin the application process to FBI academy at Quantico, Virginia and start your journey toward a career as an FBI agent. Also, candidates must be between 23 and 36 years of age at the time of appointment.
