Karate:: Is the Judo Ukemi ball a good way to teach kids how to fall?

I want to teach my junior students (ages 4-10) how to do more of a rolling front fall and this looks like a good way, Iv'e just never gotten a chance to try out any kindof exercise ball. i bought one for some "fun" stance training for my students. id have them set a stance, and then toss the giant ball at them.... they had a blast and it "kinda" got the point across.

one day i signed a student who had a fear of going upside down. i decided to use the ball to make it more fun for her. within a few weeks the ball was back behind the training area, and she was enjoying her new skill.

i havent needed if for anyone else since.

so- it came in handy for that one child.

however, if you have never taught falls, rolls before, it might be a good idea to watch some gymnastic coaches. they have a better handle on spotting for rolls/falls then most instructors.
