Dance Dance Revolution and Fitness? (Don't laugh)?
Okay, I've heard that people have done thesis papers and reports and studies on how beneficial DDR is for the body in general. But what exactly muscular areas does it improve upon? If you don't know what DDR is, just imagine sprinting/quickly running in place, for about 2 minutes, with 15 second intervals in between, for about 3-15 times.
Also, is it safe to do this much at once? To get an idea on how intense DDR can get, view this video:
Please attempt to answer all the parts of my question, with seriousness.
Oh, when I said stress, take into the fact that I'm almost 16, so its not like I'm doing all this at age 90.
Anyone else have anything?
I have read the studies. And yes, take them seriously -- as a DDR fan and as a health professional.
DDR as exercise isn't so much about muscle building as it is about cardiovascular conditioning. How safe is it for you? that depends on how healthy you are overall. If you just had a stroke, i'd say take it easy. But considering DDR is aimed at young folks, most of the audience should be healthy enough to DDR for 20-30 minutes straight (in exercise mode). In general, you should be getting at least 20 minutes of cardio 3 times per week. But don't over cardio or you'll burn off lean mass.
