We are inviting our neighbors over his daughter's birthday dinner for my daughter. It really want Hardee's fried chicken. The husband is responsible for health and fitness programs in a large country club, and his wife is a coach personal. They are super nice, to land. I have planned to serve baked potatoes, a vegetable and a salad, but do you think they freak if you ate fried chicken for dinner? I could just get fried chicken for my daughter, but what if you like fried chicken and really want some? I do not want to make two main courses. Hmm, I could do that. If you are a health nut, would you be offended / horror? If I ask my daughter what she wants for her birthday dinner, I know what she wants. She's only five years, and is likely to complain. I would get some fried chicken and make some grilled chicken or sauteed chicken breasts. You can also simply go through the store and buy a roast chicken (cheap and easy) to serve alongside the fried chicken, have enough for everyone to choose from. Good hospitality means being aware of what your guests like, leaving options, but that does not mean you have to "exaggerate" it. You can not please everyone all the time, but from what I've done an accurate perception about the lifestyle of your neighbor. Follow through instinct and not only serve fried chicken.
