I can not raise my heart rate?
I recently started watching my heart rate while working out to try to keep my heart rate training (about 145-155 bpm). The highest I can get my heart rate up is 135, and only takes about five minutes. Once I the mark of five minutes, my heart rate drops to 100 - BPM, and I can not get it back up nomatter how hard I try. Is this healthy? I'm in the military, and I'm in good shape (as far as I know). I do quite well in testing my fitness ... Could I have heart problems at my age (19)?
The first thing you have to do is get a complete physical examination. If all is well your doctor do a stress test to determine your maximum heart rate. Then take your pulse at rest for 5 consecutive days. The resting pulse as you probably know is taken before getting out of bed. Try to be as still as possible before and during his account. The average of five days and that will be your true resting HR. Subtract your resting rate of its maximum rate. Then take 60% and 75% of the difference. Add Your new kind of rest and you have your aerobic Zone. Do the same in the 75-85% of his time. Above this is your anaerobic zone. I have curiosity about how it 145-155 occurred as a training area. Could it be that is near its peak and 145-155 on HR 100 is where it sits once warm.
