blood test questions?
My daughter is 8 months old her white blood count is elevated 17.2 normal is 6.0-11.0 also her Platelet count is high 450 normal is 200-400 The differential Lymphocytes are high 63.2 normal is 50-60 ABS monocytes are high 0.74 normal is 0.03-0.70 and her ABS basophils are high 0.11 normal is 0-0.1 I cant see the doctor till Friday but every time they draw blood her white blood count is always high any input on this will greatly be appreciated also does anyone know what the ABS means. . I am not a doc but when my girl had that same sort of reading it was because she was coming off a cold. Platelets will get high after an infection and the high white cell is actually the indicator used to show that there was an infection. Does she have chronic ear infections or something of that nature? Is she in day care and so constantly exposed to germs? That will also cause those sort of values
absolute monophils and absolute basofils. and they are not really high at that range, so don't worry. Keep in mind that if your doc thought something was wrong you would have had an immediate appointment granted
