Ankle sprain with a dance recital in a month?
I was in my dance class and we were preparing for our gig in a month. I had to do jump to a specific preparation. Unfortunately, I did not prepare very well and I landed on the ankle and got a sprained ankle Investment grade 1. Fortunately, is not too severe and tried to climb the relevé "and I with a minimum of pain. If any dancers or athletes have had a similar injury to what to do deal more quickly and for how long did it take (in other words, how long until I can dance in it again?) First: RICE: rest, ice, compression, elevation of rice is a good thing for sprains and strains. It is the best way I know to get you up and dancing again. Never ice for more than twenty minutes.You want to be very careful when going to class to avoid aggravating the condition. Secondly: If you hurts, do not! As a dancer, you already know the difference between good and bad pain. Be careful. Third: Get someone knowledgeable to give sports medicine a coat or a good ankle brace. This helps prevent further injury and give you the support you need to heal. Fourth: Do not emphasize. You should be healed enough time for performance, if not more hurt your ankle. If a disaster if you do tell your class that may need to change the choreography to suit or exclude you. ~ Broken leg (in the literal sense, anyway.)
