Take track fitness to cross country?
my track season is ending and i feel as if i am in great shape, running and speed wise. i know its important to take a week or two off after the season, but i really don't want to lose all the running progress i made this season and start over. its frustrating and i really want to do well in the upcoming cross country season. I feel like a could run a pr in xc with the level i'm currently at. What do you suggest doing?

I would suggest you take a week off. 3 days is just fine sometimes but I would always suggest for high schoolers (assuming that is what you are) to take at least a week off. The risk with not taking anytime off is that of burnout. You don't want to burnout from not resting your body and potentially overtraining. With a week off, you will not lose very much fitness at all. I take two weeks off after my season (I'm not really a serious cross runner) and I don't lose too much fitness. When you do start training, remember that it is okay to take a day off every now and then. Good luck with your season!
